The Ecology of the Outer Banks

The Outer Banks can still be considered one of nature’s most wondrous ecology study grounds available. While there is plenty of residential and tourist activity, the Outer Banks are an amazing array of nature’s most beautiful and natural environments that there are still accessible to humans. All you have to do is stand there for a few moments and you can literally be swept away by the ecology of the island, watching the wildlife come to life all around you. The most amazing ecological studies have been done here, including the ones that track the behaviors of the local and nearby bottle nosed dolphin inhabitants.
The ecology of the Outer banks made it one of the most likely places to study the dolphin’s natural behavior without as much interruption to their daily routine that can be found in Florida or Virginia. What made the study of the Outer banks dolphins and the natural forces of the ecology so stunning is that these dolphins seemed so much less aggressive than the ones on the Southern tip of Virginia, just over the border, where the dolphins were turning aggressive rapidly. The basic outcome of the study proved that the natural ecology of the Outer Banks meant that it was a more dolphin friendly area due the lack of disturbance to their natural environment. These studies helped ecologists figure out how to temper the violence among dolphins along the Virginia coast line. There is no better specimen in the world.
